MUSCAT: As part of its ongoing efforts to encourage reading and develop the skills of gaining knowledge among rising generations, the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science (SQHCCS) on Sunday launched the 15th edition of 'Iqra' Reading Contest (2026) for young people.
The organising committee said that subscription to the competition begins today and continues until October 1, 2026— the deadline for submitting summaries and receiving entries.
The competition aims to develop the skills of students in reading, summarising and analysing contexts. The contest contributes to grooming a well-informed generation that is capable of keeping pace with the developments of time and events. — ONA
